This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have students that are not motivated to learn math. I have students with English limitations as well as students with special needs that benefit from a differentiated instruction. I need to get them engaged and motivated to learn and succeed in my class.
I have students that are not motivated to learn math.
The school is located in Miami, Florida. I have students with English limitations as well as students with special needs that benefit from a differentiated instruction. Some of these students can't afford to have a computer at home and can only benefit from these resources in the classroom. Technology is advancing daily and there are great interactive websites that these students can benefit from. The lack of the important technology has gotten in the way of their learning mathematics in an exciting, meaningful way. By using these laptops in the classroom, I can motivate them, engage them and individualize these students' needs and get them to succeed in math.
My Project
My students need this laptop and tablet to incorporate technology in the classroom. They will be used to differentiate instruction. My students, ESOL (limited English) and SPED (special needs) would like to interact with the internet to learn mathematics. I know of many available resources that they can benefit from and interact with in order to succeed in my class. There are many intervention programs that will give them the differentiated instruction needed. Many of these students do not have access to a computer at home. By having this great tool in the classroom, I can have these students engage in learning math and motivate them as they work interactively, solving mathematics problems and becoming proficient. I will separate students in small groups, according to their needs and have them use these computers to get them motivated, involved and engaged in the lesson.

These tools being vibrant in color, big screen and speedy will capture their attention and allow them to interact with the websites I assign to them according to their individual needs. This technology will motivate my students who are not proficient in English as well as my students with learning disabilities to succeed in math.
