Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
All of my students come from low-income households, and many share their homes with other families to make ends meet. For example, some of my students share a living space with other families or live in basements. They all qualify for services such as free lunch. They deal with negative influences daily, such as gangs and violence in their communities. Some have even faced homelessness.
They are the sweetest students that I have had the pleasure to work with.
I love them!
Many of them save their own earnings to buy me small gifts during holidays or draw me beautiful pictures to show their appreciation. They are more than happy to help each other and those that they see are in more need than themselves.
This project would greatly benefit my students because they need manipulatives to help them with math concepts.
My Project
These family home game kits will help my students learn valuable math concepts while having fun with their families. Family fun time is so important during this time of distance learning where the students can not be at school playing with their classmates. Many parents are very tense and feeling the stress of trying to teach their children from home. These kits can allow students to have some fun with family and get some much needed distraction from not being in the classroom. They will learn math concepts in a fun way!
