Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In today's society, student led centers and small group instruction is incorporated into learning. We are starting to do centers, but we only a few activities in each center. Each group has 4 or 5 students. The students would benefit more if they were all engaged in a variety of activities related to the skill that they are learning. My students come from many different and often difficult situations where they may not have materials for them to continue practicing their skills needed for first grade. We want them to be successful, and having these center games will help them be successful.
My Project
By having center activities, my students will be able to learn different concepts in different ways. They will be able to have resources to become better writers and will be able to work in small groups while I work with a small group. They can rotate and use a variety of manipulatives to help them learn the objective. By having the counting bears, it will help me assess the students for different standards. The blank space in the writing journals will give the students the ability to draw pictures as well as write words. Having lots of hands on activities will ensure engagement and learning in my classroom!
