Math Games Make Learning Fun!

My students need math games that they can use to reinforce skills we are working on in class! These include an "ATM Action!" money game, a fractions game and a Multiply, Divide & Conquer game.

My Students

Each and every day I am finding ways to make learning exciting for my students.They are an amazing bunch of mathematicians and I am proud to be their teacher. At the end of the day I am not wishing that more of them completed their homework or behaved better,I am wishing for more engaging materials.

My students are hands down the best!

They are hardworking, eager to succeed, curious, and intelligent individuals. They have a love for learning that makes teaching them an absolute pleasure. I have two groups of 25 students who attend an inner city school in Massachusetts. They are learners of all types and have different needs in order to succeed in school. The school is characterized by the state as a "Turnaround School" which means it has been under-performing on state assessments for quite some time. ALL students at this school receive free breakfast and lunch. I feel lucky to have all 50 of my mathematicians in my class.

My Project

The items I am seeking for my classroom are hands on math games and a math center students can use when they are finished with their classwork. The multitude of skills addressed in these games will most definitely enhance the students understanding of the math concepts. With these materials I will be able to create a more hands on and engaging math experience for my mathematicians. As the students play these games and work in these centers they will be reinforcing fundamental and higher order thinking skills without even knowing it! By using a more engaging approach I will create a more meaningful learning experience for these scholars. With this comes comprehension of the content, retention of the material, and real life practice of applying the skill we are working on.

We all learn math in a different way and with that we all deserve a chance at that learning.

I want to see all of my mathematicians succeed in mastering the 5th grade math standards. I know their potential is limitless and with these materials I will be able to help students unlock this potential!
