Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love teaching 3rd graders. Math is especially fun to teach. I really enjoy watching my students excitedly using flashcards to memorize their multiplication and division facts. We also do many art projects to learn about fractions, geometry, and area. It really is the most enjoyable subject to teach.

There are students that need extra support in math and would learn more if they had games to play.

Last week, I went to Lakeshore Learning and bought a set of subtraction dominos to help a small group of kids that need extra support. This week, 4 of the 6 students passed a subtraction test with 100% accuracy. I was so proud of them and I am sure they were successful because they played subtraction dominos every day for a week.

I am asking for all of these fabulous math games, activities, and practice opportunities because I believe in success for all of my students. With extra practice and support from playing math games as a team, I am sure that all of my students will become strong mathematicians!
