My Students
My students are first graders and excited everyday to learn. They are coming from a half-day kindergarten program, so this is their first year of all-day school.
My students are excited to learn and excited to work hard.
We start the year reviewing math ten partners. Then we move up to addition and subtraction to 20, money and time.
We spend a lot of time reinforcing and memorizing math facts so we can recall them and build on that foundation.
My Project
When we study math we go over the concepts. After we learn the concepts we practice and review. Students need many chances to review each concept. These flash cards are a fun way for students to review.
After whole group math instruction we work in small groups to solidify the principles.
While I meet with a small group to reinforce concepts that students might be struggling with students work in small groups doing educational math games.
We are excited to add flashcards to our math centers. Students can work independently with these math flash cards to reinforce concept and master the information.
