Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Inside my classroom, you will see students that span across the Autism spectrum. Our school is located in a low income area in the Bronx.
Everyone in my classroom works hard to create a positive learning environment for the students.
In order for my classroom to run smoothly, we have a structured environment where students have clear visual boundaries for different areas. Each student learns differently and we adapt everything to meet their individual needs.
We strive hard for our students to succeed and become independent!
My Project
You can't learn math anymore with just paper and pen!
You need hands-on and fun activities to succeed in Math!
My students struggle with early number sense. Having these games and manipulatives will help keep my students engaged while learning. It is really important to find fun and different ways to help students learn. I would use these materials at work stations in my classroom. Workstations are very important because they help the students practice math concepts that they are learning. At these workstations the teacher steps back and the student is in charge. This helps the students not only build independence, but it is a good way to help the teacher understand if the student truly understands the topic.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
