Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I would like my students to build on their ability to acquire basic mathematical facts. The students who I service are mostly performing under grade level in mathematics. Many students are repeating a grade one or more times.
The key to gaining future knowledge is to learn the basic skills such as multiplication and division. The students are unable to grasp these building blocks through rote learning experiences. Middle school students are ashamed to admit they lack basic skills.
The math games that I am requesting, including Math Bingo and Flash Cards, will be played on every Friday. These games will help my students to learn math while having fun. The games will be especially helpful to the students who have special needs. Students can work in a pair or as an individual to gain a greater understanding of key math concepts.
