This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love hands-on, engaging activities. They learn best by exploring the classroom and manipulatives that we have available for them to use.
They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even though they don't know it yet.
They are the future, and I want to give them the best start I can in school.
My Project
My students learn best through hands-on activities. By giving them additional ways to make math a little more exciting, it will help to stick. When we work on one-to-one correspondence, we use a lot of paint to help them understand that one dot means one count. With the shape buttons, we can sort by shape and count them as well. The same will go for the bug counters. They can be sorted by type, color and then counted as well. The possibilities are endless with manipulatives and my students.
