it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have lots of reading games! As a educational prize we have certain times in the week where if they do all their reading goals for the week they get reading fun time and play reading games. The kids love it! I want to do the same for math. I want them to get motivated to reach their goals. As a prize for reading their goals I want to give them Math Fun Friday!
Having math games will motivate reluctant learners to reach and surpass their math goals.
Fractions are given a lot in third grade. That is why having equivalent fraction games and fraction dominoes will help students that are struggling with fractions. For those struggling with learning their multiplication facts, we will have the SPLAT game and multiplication fact folder games! The dice poppers are to be able to turn any class activity into a math game. Many times our own book has math games and having dice would help us utilize those games. Lastly, having a magnetic number line to show the equivalent fractions would be most helpful since the standards require them to use a number line to compare and plot a fraction. Using number lines is a hard concept for them.
Having these games would highly motivate my students to improve their math skills. I have seen the motivation in reading and would love the opportunity to do it in math.
