My Students
My students come from very diverse backgrounds. I have students that are from refugee families with little to no English abilities. I have students who live in the homeless shelters and need to have good strong support from our class.
My students want to be able to achieve the most with what they have.
My students work hard at everything that they do. They try new things, and support each other in all different ways. Our class is a strong learning family.
My Project
The tools that are being asked for will enhance the number understanding of the basic elements of numbers and enhance the addition and subtraction skills.Reknereks are great tools that enhances the number sense of students who are learning to speak English while at the same time develops a stronger understanding of numbers with all students. The ten frames also allows students to physically move numbers when adding an subtracting. By using both sets of tools in the classroom, students of all levels will increase their understanding of numbers and the function of adding and subtracting liked and similar numbers.
