This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are highly motivated learners who love to acquire new information each day. Each student arrives to my classroom ready to learn and explore. I love seeing the progress that each one of my students makes each day.
In our school, we are focusing on the integration of science, technology, engineering, art and math.
Students in my classroom encourage each other to reach academic goals and model kindness throughout our school. As a Learning Lab, students engage in hands-on learning throughout the day.
My Project
Our Learning Lab needs materials to help improve our math literacy skills.
My students will use the supplies during Monday Maths Workshops that are a blend of sixth and seventh grade students who self-advocate for areas in mathematical improvement that is needed.
Each Monday students will sign up for a different workshop to improve their skills.
The need for basic supplies such as post its, dry erase makers, pencils and legal pads are necessary. Students will use X-Y axis white boards, polyhedron sets, positive-negative dice, games and rubber stamps to improve understanding in math.
These supplies will allow my students to improve mathematical understanding in order to increase self-confidence in math.
