Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school, which means the majority of my students are on free lunch due to family low income. They come from different backgrounds and cultures. Many of them speak only Spanish and are quickly learning English.

Despite the many daily challenges they face in and out of school, my 38 students come to class eager to explore and learn.

Many of my students have no access to a home computer or tablet. Therefore, they are not able to complete online assignments which are necessary to get a 21st Century adequate education.

My Project

The Daily Math Fluency Kit will allow my students to make the transition from abstract to concrete. This transition is essential to become successful in solving Word Problems in fourth grade. Some of the students in my class depend on hand-on experiences to learn math concepts. Providing them with this kit will greatly help them to learn Mathematics.

Te students will be using the manipulative in the kit to explore addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

As they master their math skills in the classroom, they will start to connect classroom math with real world activities. They will be able to develop Real World Math Skills.
