This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My third grade students are inquisitive, bright, and enthusiastic learners. They are interested in learning and staying engaged in lessons despite the fact that they've been learning remotely since March 2020. Distance learning has been a challenge for them and for me due to the interruptions of background noise and poor sound quality. A lot of my students live in small apartments or homes where they live with several families.
My Project
Students will use these hands on materials to practice and develop math fluency skills! These materials will give my students the opportunity to step away from their screens and do some good, old fashioned hands on paper pencil math activities.
They will use hands on materials to measure distance, to keep distance and to split quantities.
These activities will allow them to review 2nd grade math skills that were taught remotely during the last two months of schools.
In addition, they will also have the opportunity to practice third grade math skills that are aligned to the standards!
