Math Fluency and Beyond!

My Students

Our school is a spectacular Title I school where every student receives free lunch and breakfast. It is made up of predominantly African-American and Hispanic students.

The majority of the students come from poverty stricken and low-income homes which they don't allow to deter them from striving for excellence.

However, this does not stop or students for wanting to learn and succeed. It does put a limit on the amount of resources we are able to deliver to our students.

My Project

Third grade in North Carolina is very difficult . Students grow a lot with their fluency and understanding of Math. Multiplication and division are basic skills that we take for granted every day. Some students are able to grasp the concepts easily, while others need help with building their fluency.

We have all witnessed the a situation when some one is trying to do quick math and mess up.

We use numbers on a daily basis. If you struggle with learning it can set you up for a life long frustration. Having fluency in math helps boost a students confidence . The hand2mind daily math gives students the chance to be hands on with numbers. Hand2mind is a way for students to have a daily interaction with math.
