Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My goal for this project is to help my students reinforce basic math skills. My current students were third graders during the pandemic. As we know third grade and fourth grade covers some of the most essential skills in the elementary years such as multiplication, multi-digit operations, and all types of fractions work.
My goal for this project is to reteach some of the essential skills using and building math manipulative, and games at the middle school level.
Using board games, beads, chart paper, peg boards and fraction bars, I will be able to engage all students in learning. My students are eager to learn and with the correct strategies they will learn. I want my students to move on with confidence and willingness to push through the challenges they had to overcome due to the past.
