Our students are brilliant individuals who can tackle any task. As math teachers we feel like strengthening their math fact fluency will allow them to more easily (and consistently) access grade level tasks.
My Project
As a math team we are reflecting on the many effects the pandemic has had on our students. Their technology skills, perseverance and self-monitoring skills have certainly strengthened as they underwent remote learning. We are finding that as students transition back to in person learning that they may have been relying on calculators to support computation during remote learning.
Recalling (or using strategies to quickly get to the answer) math facts tremendously helps students access more challenging computation problems.
Our students need support to build up their math fact fluency. Reflex math is designed just for that! It is adaptive and individualized and is an effective system for mastering basic facts in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for students in grades 2+. It is full of games that students love, and helps take students at their level to quickly gain math fact fluency and confidence. It also allows for educators and parents to monitor progress and most importantly celebrate success!
