This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Are you ready for Technology Thursdays? My students get excited when it comes to using technology in our classroom!! They embrace any and every opportunity to showcase their learning and many are tech savvy learners! It gets loud and proud in our room many days!

I work with small groups of students who need additional support in math, and many of my students have learning disabilities as well.

They have not been successful in reading or math, and their self esteem is low and many are afraid to be risk takers. Yet the respect and dedication they show me every day is inspiring and motivates me to go above and beyond for them!

My Project

I am requesting 2 laptops to create projects such as PowerPoints, videos, brochures, etc. and to access the interactive technology programs available too. As we explore math in the world around us, my students will be able to problem solve, create projects, and share their learning in various formats. They will create documents, videos, or games for themselves and for their peers. I want to change their mindsets with encouragement and support to let them know they can be leaders in the classroom too!

There is a stigma for students who require additional support, and I want to change that!

I want my students to feel proud of the work that happens in our classroom! By showcasing their learning through technology, I see their self esteem and their motivation growing! I believe students who take an active role in their learning will reap the benefits for many years to come! As they continue their educational careers in secondary, I know they will remember and use all we have learned this year!
