This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hard working and optimistic about the future. Our school strives to promote and cultivate a college-ready mindset in every student because only a quarter of of my students report having a family member attend college.

If you ask my students what motivates them to succeed, they would talk about their family.

Despite facing many challenges, my students come to school ready to learn and be their best in order to make themselves, their family, and their community proud. Every day I am humbled that I get to be their teacher because they recognize the power of education.

My Project

My students need ten various kinds of colored paper and three sets of Dry Erase Markers of different colors. The colored paper will be used to differentiate the instruction for English Learners and students with special needs. Colored paper helps students organize their notes and access these materials quickly when they review. Handouts aid student learning by making the information visually appealing, organized, and easy to follow.

Whiteboard markers are used to quickly check for student understanding.

This is a vital part of the learning cycle because it allows the teacher to immediately adjust their instruction based on the work students are producing. This is a powerful way to correct misconceptions and identify students who need extra support in the class.
