My Students
I believe that learning should be hands-on, student-directed, and relevant to students' lives.
I am blessed to teach an amazing group of students who are excited about learning.
They work hard every day striving to achieve. I know in my heart that I am teaching our future doctors, lawyers, nurses, and engineers. I love that my school encourages students to do more than prepare for standardized tests. My students grow up knowing that learning is fun and relevant to their lives.
My Project
We will use these materials during Math centers. After I teach a whole class lesson on a math topic, my class will work at different centers while I pull small groups to work more closely on specific math topics. Some students might review a recently learned topic with a partner using the Common Core Math Practices. Students will get a deeper understanding of time and measurements after using manipulatives to solve problems in the "Time and Measurement Center." At the "Money Activity Station" students will interact with peers completing different money problems. Each student will have their very own set of coins and dollar bills to use during whole group exploration.
I am at a new school and classroom, with very few materials.
I don't want my students to be sitting at their seats doing worksheets. By helping to fund my project, you can help keep my classroom fun and active!
