This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In my classroom I have the opportunity to observe two different classes. In one class I have a normal group of students and in the other a class of gifted students. One common characteristic that I see in my gifted group is the drive of asking deeper questions about our learning tasks. Even though most of them are curious about our tasks there are some students who are quiet and prefer to work on their own away from their classmates. I plan to develop projects in class that satisfy the needs of all my students.

In my classroom I support my gifted students’ learning needs by playing multiple academic games in our math centers.

Some of my gifted students have their own talents and potential to grow. We must be ready for gifted students who have the desire to learn at their own pace. At the same time they also bring social emotional learning (SEL) needs and we need to be prepared with tools to identify and support their SEL wellbeing in our classroom community.

My Project

Students will have the benefit of using technology in the classroom to give them plenty of options to choose from while creating their own projects. Students use the iPad to share their learning with other students at my school. Using headphones in class help students choose a wide range of books in Spanish on Epic and RAZ Kids. I have seen how choice can positively affect my students' work and social-emotional learning skills.

Headphones are used in my classroom every day such as reading books in Spanish and working on their math skills in Spanish as well.

and having them help some of my high-ability students to concentrate better in their learning tasks during our math centers.
