Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I will be teaching fabulous first graders this year. These are some of the littlest VMES Vikings and they deserve a great start to a new school year. We are a Title I school with the majority of our students qualifying for free and reduced lunch. This is my eighth year teaching and I am thrilled to be moving to first grade.
First graders are excited to learn and happy to be at school.
This grade level makes huge jumps in reading and math. I get goosebumps thinking about the possibilities that await my students. I can’t wait to greet them every morning with a smile and help them on this learning adventure.
My Project
My students get excited when it is time for math. If you ask a student what their favorite subject is, most of them will say math. But not all students can get a firm grasp on math using just a pencil and paper. In first grade I want math to be fun and my students to be successful.
These math resources will create an engaging learning environment and the students will love to learn!
In first grade we will be counting to 120 and adding and subtracting double digits by the end of the year. Students need a good grasp on number sense. I love teaching! Help me give my students hands on opportunities to be successful.
