I am requesting highly-rated math literature, like The Wishing Club, The Greedy Triangle, 12 Ways to Get to 11, etc., to use in my math lessons. My students need math literature to enhance their understanding of math concepts.

My Students

A typical day in my class includes song, positive affirmations, team work, learning stations, differentiated instruction, and hard work! I believe in meeting students where they are academically and helping them to achieve great success. I strive to inspire a love of learning in and out of class.

I work in school filled with a diverse population of kids who pride themselves on being unique, creative, high-achieving learners.

As a top-performing school in the district, the teachers rely on collaboration and hard work to ensure that all students are successful. My kids are just like any kids. They want to learn. They want to be loved and accepted. They want to be engaged. They want to be successful. My job is to work within our community to make sure it happens.

My Project

I am requesting highly-rated, math literature to use throughout my math lessons to enhance my math instruction. I could use these beautiful books to open lessons, to review concepts, to provide a story through which students can act out math concepts, and to reteach difficult material.

A lot of times, students can view math in a bubble.

They don't see how math is woven into the fabric of our daily lives. The math literature I have requested would provide an opportunity for students to understand the importance of math in all aspects of our lives. It also provides a different means of math instruction that will meet the learning styles of many students. Finally, math literature is inspiring, engaging, and motivating!
