This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our preschool students are developing math skills such as counting, quantifying, and recognizing numbers. Although math is all around us, we typically use our small group time to dive deeper into content instruction, like math.

To make abstract math concepts more concrete, we are asking for math picture books, manipulatives, and toys that students can use to help them develop math skills through play.

We plan to use the math books to spark math talks with our preschoolers both in whole groups and small groups. The books will also be placed in our Math area and Library for students to read during their free choice. The manipulatives will be used for our small group math instruction. We hope you can support our project for math books and supplies.
