FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Wright's classroom raised $155

I am a 27 year old teacher of a class of 27 bright, wonderful and amazing first grade students. I was afforded the opportunity to teach my school's gifted program this year. This is my fifth year teaching, and I am viewing this opportunity to teach these children as a true gift. My kids are amazingly articulate, literate and academically advanced. They often wind up teaching ME things. They are incredible.
The area that I work in is very impoverished and needy. Supplies are spead very thin in my district, especially reading books for the children (which is the most integral part of any classroom). I am not from the area, but over the years, I have become very attached to the kids in my school, as well as the community. I know that I can truly make a difference in their lives.
My students are very advanced in reading and writing, but often struggle with mathematical concepts. It is easier for them to learn concepts through stories and visualization. I do not have any children's math books to do so.
I have found 3 sets of math books that would greatly aid in my teaching and my children's learning. All of the books are light-hearted and enjoyable. The Snack Math Book Collection is a classic book collection that contains 8 paperback books that use popular chocolates and candies to aid in learning mathemtical concepts. The Math Counts Discovery Books - Sets 1 and 2 cover every mathematical concept that I can think of, ranging from addition to weight and capacity. In total, my class would be receiving 18 books.
My students will be thrilled to see new reading materials in our classroom. My kids are thirsty for knowledge, and I would like to do anything in my power to help them.
