My inner-city students are struggling in math. They often don't understand concepts that are taught in the classroom and there is not enough time in the day to review them. I often ask families to help, but they simply don't know how.
I would like to buy test-prep materials and vocabulary cards that the students can take home and work on with their families. They would be able to take turns taking home a set of cards to work on in addition to their homework. This way their parents will be able to help them and they won't be embarrassed because they don't understand something.
