My students need the opportunity to learn across the curriculum with more math and social studies centers.

My Students
I teach at a Title I School in East Texas. We are a small community school and we are limited on materials. However, our school serves a free breakfast every morning to ensure that all students receive the nutrition they need to start the day.
I want my students to have all the materials they need to better their education.
I am a 2nd-grade teacher. My classroom consists of a wide variety of diverse students that come from small towns. They are a bright group of kids who are eager to learn and I want them to be able to walk into my classroom and feel excited about what is in store for them that day. Because they are from a small town, they feel the need to challenge themselves to the max to show their full potential. This is something we encourage at BES because we know that our students are capable of accomplishing anything they set their minds too.
My Project
What do the students do while the teacher is in small groups? They extend their learning and practice skills while in centers. These supplies will give my second graders so many opportunities to practice learning across the curriculum in a fun and exciting way.
I cannot wait to see my student's faces when they see all of the fun ways we can explore math and social studies during station time.
As a teacher, it's hard to stay organized but with the Rolling Office Organizer, I can be better prepared for activities. We need more materials in the classroom for project based learning. With the assorted paints, we can do art projects for math and science whether its creating arrays or painting the seasons. The power pens will be a great addition to my grab and go centers activities. Now a days, doing stuff on pen and paper is so overrated. Students need more hands on activities and that's what these Social Studies Centers will give them. Why read out of a textbook when there are so many file folder games they can take and sit around the room with a friend and learn at the same time. It's ALL ABOUT the INTERACTION!
