This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are loud and proud! Despite many socioeconomic obstacles, they continue to show up for life. Because they live in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the United States and have to face hurdles most people would quickly be disillusioned by, these kids need our support.

My students are aware of the benefits of education, and are willing to do whatever is needed to achieve success.

Their resiliency constantly amazes me, and I am honored to be a part of their lives.

My Project

We are an "Algebra 4 All" school in the Bronx, NY. My students have access to a wonderful online resource called, Algebra Nation.

Algebra Nation uses a series of videos aligned with a workbook to help students achieve mastery in all the Algebra 1 standards they will need to be successful in taking and passing the New York State Common Core Algebra 1 Regents in June.

Splitting the class into smaller groups will allow for better differentiation and for more individualized instruction. These headphones will enable my students to utilize Algebra Nation and other online resources without being disrupted by other activities taken place in the classroom.
