This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How do you create enrichment STEM lessons for high performing students when working in small groups with low performing students who need additional help? Both sets of students need additional attention, but I can only work with one group at a time. So multiport adapter for headphone to the rescue!

We are a Title 1 school, as a majority of the students are on free or reduced-price lunch.

A large population of our students are ESOL 1 so they are non- English or limited English speakers. Although our school is predominately Hispanic, we do have students from many non-Hispanic countries. Many do not have the materials needed to complete their work. All of them are, however, very eager to learn and explore the world of math and science.

My Project

I am requesting 2 charging ports that will hold and charge tablets and laptops so they will be ready to use each day. I am also requesting multiport adapters for headphones to use in the math centers and a pointer to facilitate details on the smartboard. Thanks to donors on DonorsChoose.org, we have 3 iPads & 2 Asus Transformer Books. By having the ports to charge the tablets, I will be able to design & give online math tests and create STEM activities. It will also provide my students an opportunity to use programs such as Discovery Education, Brain-Pop, and iReady Math. I will be using the multiport adapters so more than one child can work on a computer at a time. This will help them work in teams.

The use of this technology will not only directly engage my students, but also add impact to each of my lessons.
