Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a group of 30 dual language first graders. They are learning in Spanish and English every day. I get the privilege of teaching the English side of our program at a Title I school and I get to watch these incredible second language learners develop a new language and excel at it.
The majority of my students come from low income households and don't often have all the resources they need to succeed.
At school, we try to create a space of support and safety and provide all the resources they could need.
My students are becoming super readers every day, and it brings me so much joy watching as they discover this entire new world of adventure. Early literacy will be a big focus for us this year, and I can't wait to see the growth these incredible students make.
My Project
Help give my students new reading and math resources in our classroom. Your donation will go towards math games, reading and phonics activities and STEM magna tiles to help enhance our daily learning.
These resources are loved by my students and we need more of them so everyone can participate!
In our class, we learn best by doing hands on activities and engaging in unique ways with new learning. Your donations will allow our students to have new materials and learning opportunities in our classroom and that will be a huge impact on them!
