My Students
The best learning takes place through hands-on learning tasks! This project is designed to put the materials right into the hands of my second graders to support their math and reading comprehension development!
My students are my pride and joy!
I love them as if they were my own children. I would give anything for them and hope to inspire a love of learning in each and every one of them. I am blessed to teach in the community where I was born and raised... I love being in my own community and showing children that if I can make it through college and become a school teacher, so can they. They sky is the limit! Our small town roots will not hold us down :)
My Project
Can you imagine a classroom where all children are actively engaged in games and activities that support the common core curriculum? A classroom where children are not sitting at their desks completing worksheets all day in silence? A classroom where learning is fostered through cooperative hands-on learning... That was my dream when I began setting up my classroom last year. Through this project I hope to bring this dream to life! I want my children to have reading comprehension activities to help them learn to look beyond the written word and develop critical thinking skills. I want them to see first hand how place value works, and develop number concepts through place value charts and activities. I also want them to practice their skills through folder games that are easy to use. I want my children to love learning as much as I do!
This project will go above and beyond the 24 children in my classroom.
These materials will bless the lives of children for years to come. These materials will be used across 4 second grade classes in our school this year as we work on our "response to intervention" to assist struggling students. Hands on learning is a powerful tool that every teacher should have access to in their classroom!!
