My students need games and activities to improve math and reading skills. We do literacy stations and math stations. Some stations are guided and/or technology based, but I would like to incorporate fun educational games also.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students are from low-income and high needs area in the Bronx. They are of diverse cultures and speak a variety of languages at home. A large problem with lower level learners is that they sometimes feel discouraged and give up easily. I want to give these students an opportunity to succeed and to feel good about learning. My students would benefit from engaging and fun math and literacy centers to make learning difficult concepts easier and more accessible. Success will lead to more confidence.
My Project
My students are lower-level and need extra supports to brush up on math and reading skills from previous grades. They need fun and engaging games that they can enjoy while learning at the same time. My goal is to make sure students are having fun and feeling positive and confident about their learning.
The math games and centers will be used when we do math stations and the reading games will be used during literacy stations.
Connect 4 and Life are games that require students to build skills such as teamwork, decision-making, and strategy. I hope these games will engage students.
