This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is one of the largest public schools in New York City located in Elmhurst, Queens. It was also the epicenter of the coronavirus which impacted many students and families. Most of our students come from low income families, another country, and majority of the students are English Language learners.

The time that I have with my Kindergarten students in class is very precious because it is where most of their learning takes place.

I hope to help my Kindergarten students build the love of learning in school and become great readers, writers and scholars!

My Project

This school year will be a challenging one! Social distancing will be the new norm in my classroom. The new seat storage sacks will help my Kindergarten students keep their books, crayons, pens, sight word cards, and other classroom supplies well organized while maintaining social distancing.

By donating to this project, my students will use individual seat sacks to learn the importance of having personal space and materials while maintaining social distancing safely...germ-free!

The seat sacks will help my students get classroom supplies they need within their little arm's reach! Most importantly, they will avoid any germs being spread to others in the classroom since classroom supplies will not be shared. All the materials they need will be behind their chair! Hooray!
