My Project

As a teacher, I often see students attending school with a variety of needs. In working to address these needs, I would like to increase opportunities for students to build positive self-esteem, coping skills, and mental health. Students in high school are learning how to interact with their peers and make academic growth. How students feel about themselves can impact their progress.

The goal of this project is to provide materials and snacks to increase students' self-esteem and mental health.

Students are often hungry before lunch and do not have snacks on hand. Snacks are needed to help prevent students from feeling hungry and focusing on this. Games and puzzles are needed to build and increase positive social skills and meaningful relationships with peers. Fidget toys are needed so that students may have a coping mechanism when they need it or having extra energy. Art/crafting supplies are needed so that students may have a creative outlet to express themselves and focus on hands-on activities.
