This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teacher of a diverse group of primarily English Learners, my goal is to make learning equitable and allow my students to showcase their creativity while doing so. By utilizing our Core Literature novel translated into Spanish, my students who have recently arrived to the country will be given a better opportunity to participate in class discussions and access reading comprehension. Using flashcards of math operation problems will also make 4th grade math standards more attainable for my students as the fluency practice will solidify their foundational math skills. My students would also love to have markers they can use to showcase their learning when we complete PBLs, math talks, and art projects.
