Materials Make Learning Bright! Light Up My Classroom!

My students need basic school supplies such as pencil, poster board, hand sanitizer and more for a way to keep our classroom clean, and other materials for a BRIGHT start to our year together.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Alberts's classroom raised $481

This project is fully funded

My Students

NO student should walk into a lifeless and empty classroom. A classroom should be clean, vibrant and colorful. Our classroom needs YOU to bring it to life. I promise my students will sustain the vibrancy you provide, when they walk into a decorated, bright and organized space everyday.

My students are what give me energy and inspire me to teach everyday.

They are inspiring 6th graders with hopes and dreams of how they will use their education to benefit themselves and their families. My students attend a charter school in which about 97% of students qualify for free and reduced lunch. We are in a neighborhood that sadly sees a lot of violence, gangs and foreclosures of property. However don't let the statistics fool you, my students know the problems and offer solutions on how to fix them. School is a place where we can talk about empowering yourselves to make a better community. They love expressing themselves through writing, drawing, music, skits, debates and many other forums. Nothing will silence their voices and school is a place where they can be heard and we can help foster their ideas into actions.

My Project

My school is currently unable to supply our classrooms with basic school supplies due to budget cuts. By funding this project my kids can be artists instead of just copying notes off a white board. We will have a CLEAN classroom in which the cleaning will be student-run. Your donation will allow me to buy cleaning supplies such as all purpose spray, a mop, broom, dustpan and towels so that our classroom will remain spotless. Our custodians are only able to sweep our rooms regularly. Because our school can not provide basic school supplies, your donation will also go toward erasers, expo markers, golf pencils, markers, and pens so that my 60 students have materials to work with during the year. Our classroom will be our "school home" and we will take pride in it. It will be a safe place for all and we will feel like a 6th grade family.

I want my students to love school and our classroom.

I want them to feel equipped with the tools they need in order to be successful. We need to have a bright classroom that is full of learning and fun. Show your support and help us see that the community problems outside our classroom will be a stark contrast to the reality we experience everyday. Show my students that their voice matters.
