Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a large, urban school district. The students in my school range from preschool to 4th grade. They include children with special needs, hearing impairments, and English language learners.

A majority of the children who attend my school come from low-income families.

My class for many of my students is their first school experience, and through their experiences in my class I lay the groundwork for a love of learning and education.

My Project

My students are very curious learners who like to explore in the different learning centers in our classroom.

I would like to add materials to our science center that will invite my students to explore , experiment and use their senses; along with developing their language and vocabulary.

Children can discover what is magnetic, the life cycle of plants, their 5 senses, stem science using ramps, recycling, motion, weather along with looking closing at objects they find in nature using the magnifying glasses and microscope. These materials will be used to expand on our curriculum.
