My Project

Throughout the COVID pandemic, performing arts programs have been affected as much as, if not more than, any other educational program. Even when we were able to play instruments, dance and sing, we needed to wear masks, limit our time making music, learning movement and much more. We are still catching up. Students are gradually coming back to orchestra, and dance, and we need to get them all of the supplies they need to continue pursuing the performing arts.

The materials requested in this project will help my students recover from the setbacks of COVID restrictions by restocking some much-needed supplies.

I am a unique teacher, I teach TWO completely different disciplines, both dance and orchestra. My numbers are starting to climb because students CRAVE what they lost out on during the pandemic--I am in need of sound systems for my dance program, and some basic supplies for the orchestra classroom. I teach at a 50% Free and Reduced lunch school--to ask my families to provide some of these materials would not be possible with the current economy and their finances.

If this project is funded, it will help students catch up from the setbacks of the COVID pandemic, while providing the strong Social-Emotional benefits afforded by the performing arts.
