This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, my students faced several challenges both in and out of the classroom. All of my students have been identified with special needs such as autism, developmentally delayed, intellectual disability, language impairment and deaf and hard of hearing. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking for the best classroom tools to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My early childhood special education students are very creative and full of energy.
They like to dance, play and explore new materials. A typical day in our class is based on learning through play. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth. I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
My students will use the manipulative materials and the Alpha-Bots as they participate in reading, centers and circle time activities. The Alpha-Bots will be the perfect tool for my students to go over the letters and sounds. As the children use these tools every day, they will be able to learn the alphabet, letter sounds, follow storybooks, participate during circle time, practice fine motor movements, and turn taking.
The donations you make will make a huge difference in my students' learning experiences.
They will have the opportunity to be in a classroom where they can have the best teaching tools. These materials will help my students to be prepared to go to kindergarten. These incredible materials will be a great tool for this group of young people. Your generosity will positively impact the children's lives and their families.
