Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing!! My K-5th graders come to school with a smile on their face, regardless of the sometimes terrible situations they are coming from. Almost my entire school is low-income, and all of our students are given free breakfast and lunch. They often do not have any supplies, and the teachers are so generous in giving them what they need. They will be so excited to have some new supplies (or any for that matter) to use in our speech therapy room. A little bit of help will go a long way!
My Project
My speech therapy room needs craft materials, art supplies, and general school supplies in order for my students to interact with the speech therapy curriculum! They need markers, crayons, paper, scissors, glue, and other supplies so that they can be hands-on in order to make the most progress! Students can use the art supplies to make picture visuals of figurative language terms and idioms, could draw comparing and contrasting visuals of school vocabulary terms, and could even use them to show color sorting and sequencing! There are so many ways my students could benefit!
My students are so fantastic!
I'm working my first year in a low-income school, where almost all students have limited resources, and so do the teachers. Having this support and financial assistance would mean the world to my students and I! They are coming from very little, and every little bit makes a big difference.
Thank you so much for considering donating to my project for my new speech students!
