This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of 33 five- and six-year-olds who are always ready to learn. Despite living in a high-crime, and low-income area, they enjoy coming to school every day.

Our school goes above and beyond to try and provide students a place where they can feel safe and ready to learn, but our limited resources make it extremely difficult to reach every student.

My students have been exposed to the wonderful world of books and are loving it.

My Project

My classroom is in need of essential supplies. Students with special needs greatly benefit from fidget toys, manipulatives, and magnetic manipulatives. The contact paper and bulletin board paper will provide a space for displays for both reading and math. Face coverings will provide safety measures for the students and the teacher. Tactile liquid letters will help students memorize the letters of the alphabet. All of these materials will provide opportunities for students to learn in multiple ways, appealing to many learning styles. Our classroom will be more inclusive and better prepared.
