My Students
My students are fun, compassionate, and curious young children. When they arrive at school in the morning, they race to the schedule, excited to find out what is on the agenda for the day. Every day is fresh, new, and exciting!
Our school is one of the most diverse in the district, and is located in a tight-knit community in the heart of San Francisco.
Many of my students' cousins, parents, and even grandparents have attended our school! The community bond shows through as students giggle, play, and learn together throughout the day.
My Project
Last year I received matching bins and caddies to help my students organize their notebooks, folders, markers, and pencils. I was amazed by the way these matching bins helped my students retrieve and return their school supplies with efficiency and ease. However, the ease of managing those supplies revealed how teacher-directed some of my other supply management was!
I envision these additional bins and carry-alls allowing my classroom supplies to become completely student managed.
When supplies are well organized and color coded, even the youngest of students can find what they are looking for. When students are in charge of their own materials, I have the freedom to spend my time teaching and interacting with my students rather than managing supplies.
