Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with transitional kindergartners through second grade students. My students are a group of awesome individuals, who try their best in everything they do. They enjoy learning and come to school with a big smile on their face. I enjoy working with my students and helping them to be the best they can be. At our school we ROAR because we are Responsible learners, Own our action, Act with kindness, and we Remember to be a friend each and every day.

My Project

I would like to use this book shelf to store our new books and materials. The mega deluxe toy assortment, fun/game assortment, and treasure chest will be used after my students have filled their incentive chart. My students will earn a sticker after each task. Once they fill their chart, they will get an opportunity to dig for a prize inside the treasure box. The dough, dough scissors, and rolling pins will be used when students request a break. The assortment color paper will be used for art activities and it will be stored inside the tabletop paper center to keep it organized.

I will use the Picture Stories and Language Activities set to help me teach communication and literacy skills with familiar characters, predictable routines, and fun antics.

My students will develop skills in vocabulary, grammar, representational play, sequencing, reading comprehension, predicting, identifying feelings, answering questions, and determining missing information. The Categories book set will help my students listen to simple sentence stories and then place vinyl-cling stickers. The Comparatives/Superlatives book set will help my students compare and contrast. The No-Glamour Following Directions book will make it easy to isolate, evaluate, teach, and provide practice for the important skill of following directions. The No-Glamour sequencing cards depict everyday sequences, such as making a bed or cooking pancakes. The other half of the card sets will help me teach academic sequences, such as the life cycle of a frog or the erosion of mountains.
