I have been a Special Education teacher for over 10 years. Each year there seems to be an increase in the number of children diagnosed and undiagnosed with different disabilities entering the general education classroom. Many schools are unable or not equipped to meet the needs of such students inside the general education classroom.
These materials will make a difference not only in my Special Education classroom but also inside the general education classroom.
The visual schedule will aid in helping students be aware of the activities and events that will take place on that day. The fidgets will give students the ability to move during instruction without hindering the learning of other students. Sensory toys will help soothe and calm down certain students.
The goal of this project is to ensure that ALL students including those with diagnosed disabilities are given the tools they need to be successful inside the general education classroom.
