Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Mrs. Abaya's high school artists largely hail from low-income households, where access to quality art supplies is not economically feasible. Due to budget cuts, many of these students enroll in high school without the benefit of a prior art class to help develop their creativity and critical thinking skills. As such, these students need to develop fundamental art skills throughout the disciplines of observational drawing, painting and mixed media. Your donation will enable my students to create art using supplies such as markers, color pencils, and brushes. Students will develop confidence as they execute their pictures using quality art supplies and display their masterpieces in an end-of-the-school-year art show.
