My Project
In today’s design field, sustainability is no longer optional—it’s essential. As a visual arts teacher, for my graphic design classes, I strive to empower students to create with purpose, impact, and environmental responsibility.
This professional development project will allow me to master the Cricut Autopress and Mug Press, advanced heat-transfer tools that support sustainable small-batch production.
I’ll learn how to responsibly source materials, reduce waste, and guide students in designing eco-conscious merchandise—from reusable mugs to upcycled textiles.
Our students currently use foundational tools like the EasyPress, but with your help, I’ll gain expertise in higher level tools that allow for more efficient, consistent production with less energy waste and material trial-and-error. I plan to develop lessons that emphasize eco-friendly practices such as minimizing vinyl waste, using recycled blanks, and encouraging reusable product design.
By investing in my learning, you’re helping shape a new generation of climate-aware creators—young designers who understand the connection between creative work and environmental stewardship. These tools will not only enhance our technical capabilities but also deepen students’ understanding of sustainable entrepreneurship and thoughtful design.
