My Project
Many of my students don't have the desire or drive to do math. They are loving children who are missing foundational skills and motivation to succeed. The book Hidden Figures will assist diverse learners in understanding the dynamics of hard work and will draw connections to what is done in the classroom. It is imperative that these students have the chance to read about how math and hard work can produce success.
The book will be perfect for small group reading sessions and discussions, which will spark a love for math and reading.
The stools will provide flexible seating throughout the classroom, which will allow students to have a free seating choice. These tools will enhance the student's learning experience and drive them to want to learn more.
The purchase of the expo- dry-erase markers allows each student to be able to participate as a whole group on dry-erase boards. Each student will have the chance to “teach” their peers in their work groups, utilizing the markers and dry-erase boards. Copy paper and the glittery card stock will serve as reinforcement tools to help students with vocabulary words, math terms, and comprehension of both the book and math.
My goal is to make sure that I am constantly pouring into the students and giving them the best that I can, making sure that I am that teacher that influences the students beyond the classroom doors and motivates them to do their best at all times.
