My project needs Instant Math Centers for hands-on learning.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Leahy's classroom raised $233
This project is fully funded
I am a new Kindergarten teacher working with 19 eager students. Prior to this year I taught 2nd grade in North Carolina. I am now working at a school located in a small town outside of New Orleans, Louisiana.
As a new Kindergarten teacher, I do not have a lot of supplies for working with 5 year-olds and our school has very limited resources. Kindergarten students need to learn the basic math skills that will be used throughout their lives. For most of the students in my class, this will be their first time working with other students and learning these skills. In my experience, students learn much better when they can get their "hands" on the materials.
Through this grant, I hope to offer a variety of exciting hands-on math centers to my class. Allowing them the opportunity to work in small groups while learning essential skills. The kit requested through this grant included several different math centers. Each center comes with kid friendly, picture directions and all of the hands-on materials needed to complete that center. This would allow me to easily teach and reinforce needed skills.
I feel that this will further enhance the learning experience of my students and make math all the more enjoyable. This resource will be a great asset to my classroom for years to come!
