My Students

My classroom consists of twenty enthusiastic and inquisitive young learners with active imaginations and kind hearts. Some of the children are English language learners while encountering their first classroom setting. I partner with my assistant teacher to create a safe, supportive environment for my students, focusing on literacy and language development.

Together, we set the foundation for learning through small group literacy, art, mathematics, and science activities, while balancing the school day with social-emotional problem-solving and self-help practices.

Our activities also promote kinetic movement for active learners as well as whole child, free-choice centers.

My Project

My young preschoolers are expanding their sharing and collaborative skills as they build together in the block and manipulatives center. Construction and creativity come together as the children imagine and build through purposeful and engaging play. These young engineers talk out their plans and actively design a variety of balanced structures.

Constructing together allows the children to problem solve and to discuss and test their ideas.

The children figure out what works and what doesn't as they make decisions and revise their choices. Along with math and science, the children strengthen language, social, and motor skills.
