What I admire most about my students is their drive and desire to learn regardless of their circumstance. I work in a school that is 100% free lunch where the lunch offered leaves a lot to be desired. Throughout the day, the number one question I am asked is: "Ms. Cyndy, do you have any snacks?!"
Students need to have their basic needs met before we push them into academically rigorous content within the classroom.
A student cannot be completely focused and engaged in the classroom material if they are thirsty or hungry. I need your help to create a snack corner so no kid needs to push through a lesson on an empty stomach.
